I was particularly inspired by Sara's research because I believe handwashing is not taken as seriously as it should be. I first made the hands out of a plaster/sculpting mold mixture and then painted them disgusting hues of black, brown, and green. I wanted the colors to represent the grimy, dirty germs that we encounter daily. The sink faucet is attached to bottles of a powerful hand scrub. This really emphasizes the contrast between sanitary and dirty. Through my sculpture, I hope to show everyone how important it is to wash your hands often every day.
